On the road
with Torsten Hallman
After viewing the
"On the road with Heikki Mikkola" photo series, Torsten Hallman
sent some photos to show how it was to travel on the
GP circuit in the 50's and 60's. These photos really capture the
day and provide a great insight of how life on the road in
Europe really was. Living in Hotel Volvo, sleeping in tents and
having lunch with cows. The dedication these riders had was
truly remarkable. The Mikkola photos are traveling in luxury by
comparison.

Tents and portable
fold up table and chairs were the norm in the 50's and 60's.
Traveling from country to country through all the border check
points was a major part of the GP scene in these early days.
